The Equal Ground Project has partnered up with various non-profits around the Greater Houston area such as the Houston Food Bank and Bridging for Tomorrow in order to reach parts of our community victim to social inequity.
Students can contribute to the Houston Food Bank's mission of "Food for Better Lives" by regularly volunteering and taking part in the Student Hero program; this helps tackle economic inequity in all of Houston.
Bridging For Tomorrow is a community center and food pantry about 20 minutes away from TMHS. It offers student volunteer programs like a weekly reading club and tutoring club, dismantling education inequity in Greater Houston.
This non-profit organization provides multiple ways that help facilitate skill development and student achievements. The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization provides ways to diminish educational inequities throughout the Greater Houston Area. For example, students can volunteer and help by becoming a "Big" and mentoring the youth. This center provides volunteer programs to help support those with disabilities within our society. Volunteers will help in recreational activities, assist in special events, and more. The Coalition for Barrier Free Living is an independent living advocacy organization that is dedicated to promoting the full inclusion, equal opportunity, and participation of those with disabilities in all aspects of community life.
